Paul calls the Christian to stand firm as "good soldier(s) of Christ Jesus" (2 Timothy 2;3,4). Our conflict is not a physical battle against "flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual host of wickedness..." (Ephesians 6:12). We are waging spiritual war against Satan, and daily we fight the little skirmishes for control of our heart. "Be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand..." (Ephesians 6:10-11). Protect yourself with God's eternal and never changing TRUTH. Confidently display yourself with God's RIGHTEOUSNESS. Always be ready and prepared to set before your enemy the peaceful GOSPEL of Jesus Christ. Be steadfast and strong in your FAITH. Be sure in your SALVATION. Firmly uphold the WORD OF GOD and strike down the enemies of the cross. Contend earnestly for that faith which is once for all delivered! Be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord! (Jude 3; 1 Corinthians 15:58)
